Risotto, the quintessential Italian comfort dish, has charmed food lovers across the globe with its creamy texture and rich flavors. Originating from Northern Italy, this delectable rice dish has a storied history that dates back to the Renaissance. Traditionally made with Arborio or Carnaroli rice, risotto achieves its signature creaminess through a labor-intensive process of slow cooking and constant stirring, allowing the rice to release its starches and absorb a flavorful broth.

The basic ingredients of risotto are simple yet transformative: high-quality rice, broth (often chicken or vegetable), white wine, onions, butter, and Parmesan cheese. However, its versatility allows for endless variations, incorporating ingredients like mushrooms, seafood, saffron, and seasonal vegetables, making each plate a unique culinary experience.

For those eager to savor the finest risotto, I’d like to share my experience having risotto in Bijeljina with two restaurants: One that has lower price with high taste, in an average bar/restaurant place and the other that you pay a lot for such a small plate, but a fancy restaurant.

Park Caffe & Restaurant
